Licetus è un cratere lunare di 75,42 km situato nella parte sud-orientale della faccia visibile della Luna, contiguo al bordo settentrionale del cratere Heraclitus, a sud del cratere Stöfler e a nordest del cratere Cuvier.

Si è formato nel periodo Pre-Nettariano, tra i 4,55 e i 3,92 miliardi di anni fa. È una formazione che presenta numerosi piccoli crateri lungo il bordo interno a sudest, con altri lungo il bordo a nordovest. Il fondo interno è relativamente piatto con alcune creste e pendii minori nella metà meridionale. Presenta piccoli crateri lungo il confine ovest-sudovest e orientale del fondo.

Il cratere è dedicato al fisico italiano Fortunio Liceti.
