Re: Alunite supergroup

Hello, sorry for late answer. I followed IMA approved hierarchy defined in Eur. J. Min., 21 (2009), 1073-1080. I don't know the source of hierarchy reported by rruff.info that defines only three groups (alunite, beudantite and crandallite groups). Thx. rruff.info/ima/ normally follows the recent papers on minerals, they are quite good. But if u prefer I can revert it and follow this IMA paper and mineralienatlas.de. Things will get clearer in 2/3 years time, I suppose. The minerals groups based on 'Fleischer's Glossary' have some mistakes. If you are ok with it, I'm going to review them, so that it.wikipedia and wikidata are the same. --Chris.urs-o (msg) 15:42, 21 mag 2013 (CEST)

Generally I prefer to use a paper as reference because often contains a description of criteria used for grouping minerals in a specific group/subgroup. Probably rruff.info/ima is following an older classification for alunite supergroup and will be upgraded in the future. I'll add references for groups and supergroups soon (I hope to do it soon because is just arrived a new 2 weeks old baby in my home...). Danburite

Hello, you changed category of danburite from sorosilicati to fillosilicati. Nickel-Strunz classifies it as "tettosilicati". Where you found this mineral classified as "fillosilicati"? Thanks --Sbìsolo 11:23, 27 mag 2013 (CEST)

Sorry that I updated supergruppo dell'alunite. I didn't see that you reverted my questionable edits already. Gruppo della northupite had nordite-(La), but nordite series is in the gruppo della nordite. Gruppo della synchysite had sylvite, but sylvite is in the gruppo dell'halite already. --Chris.urs-o (msg) 18:35, 27 mag 2013 (CEST)

You were right on nordite-(La) and sylvite (typo errors preparing groups and templates pages). I did other editings to alunite supergroup and subgroups because after the pubblication of paper about it there was an IMA decision about polytypes therefore there's no space for -1c, -2c as valid species but only as polytype varieties. Amphiboles classification is an headache... Last classification version was published in October 2012 and introduced heavy modifications. There's not something as "A renamed B". I have not yet updated it.wikipedia articles with the new nomenclature: there are amphibolese redefined 3-4 times.
