Descrizione
Español: La franja roja superior representa la sangre que derramaron los patriotas barceloneses el 7 de abril de 1817 en la conocida masacre de la Casa Fuerte. La franja azul central representa el mar que sirvió de entrada al Libertador Simón Bolívar a Barcelona el 31 de diciembre de 1816, mientras que el verde inferior su condición de capital del estado Anzoátegui declarado en la Constitución del 5 de agosto de 1909, cuando formaba parte del Estado Bermúdez. En el centro el escudo del municipio Simón Bolívar.
