After many adventures Tamino and Paminameet, and by means of the magic flute they areabout to escape, but are interrupted by Sarastro,who agrees to unite the lovers if they will remainand be purified by the sacred rites; and as thepriest separates them and covers their heads withveils, the curtain falls. ACT II The first scene shows a noble forest and theTemple of Wisdom. The priests assemble, andSarastro orders the lovers brought before him.
