La Heineken Cup 2001-02 fu la 7ª edizione della coppa d'Europa di rugby XV per club.
Oramai stabilizzatasi nella formula a 24 squadre, previde come nelle edizioni precedenti sei gironi, le cui prime accedettero direttamente alla fase a eliminazione diretta, insieme alle due migliori seconde classificate in base al consolidato sistema del seeding calcolato in base al punteggio complessivo, al conteggio mete e alla differenza punti.
Terza vittoria consecutiva, e quarta assoluta in sette edizioni fino ad allora disputate, di una compagine inglese, il Leicester che, nell'occasione, fu la prima a laurearsi campione d'Europa sia, in generale, per la seconda volta e, in particolare, riconfermandosi, avendo vinto anche l'edizione precedente; nella finale di Cardiff il Leicester sconfisse 15-9 gli irlandesi del Munster.
