La [[WWE#Storia|storia della WWE]] risale al 1948, quando nacque la [[National Wrestling Alliance]] (NWA) – un gruppo di federazioni indipendenti di wrestling, dette anche «territori» – e il territorio della futura WWE era quello degli [[Stati Uniti d'America nord-orientali]], noto anche come [[WWE#Capitol Wrestling Corporation Ltd.
