Armensk flyktningeleir, Aleppo. Original bildetekst: En del av den store flyktningeleir i Aleppo, hvor der bodde c. 12.000 mennesker. Fotografiet er trolig tatt av den norske sykepleieren og misjonæren Bodil Biørn, som reiste til Armenia i KMAs tjeneste i 1905. Med to avbrudd arbeidet hun ute til 1935, først i Armenia og senere blant armenske flyktninger utenfor Armenia.
English: Photo from Akrivverket. Armenian refugee camp in Aleppo, only part of the giant refugee camp in Aleppo is depicted. About 12,000 people lived in this camp. The photo is probably taken by the Norwegian nurse and missionary Bodil Biørn. She started her work to help Armenians in 1905, first in Armenia proper and later in surrounding areas to help refugees. She ended her work here in 1935. |
