Translated narrative by Presuhn: "The upper arabesque comes from Herculaneum, where it was found in the previous century [1700s]. It runs through the lower part of a wall field. At the center we recognize an Okeanos mask with crab claws." "The two lower ornaments are from the Temple of Isis excavated in 1765. They form the basis of pontic architecture, like the fish centaur on Plate VIII, and correspond to the frieze mentioned in the previous plate. The items are an Oceanus Head [Titan of the sea and all water boundaries] and a Sacred Lotus Plant."
