The Crater Lake Institute carries an Historic 1938 era NPS photo postcard of The Old Man: an NPS 1938 Photo View, (perched atop is Alden H. Miller-later professor at UC Berkeley and Director of the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, son of Loye H. Miller, first Naturalist at CRLA in 1926. Loye was well known as a scientist at La Brea Tar Pits, Los Angeles, Calif and a professor of Zoology and Paleontology at UCLA |
