English: The High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on board ESA's Mars Express spacecraft took this image of the Phobos-Grunt's possible landing area. Phobos-Grunt is a planned Russian sample-return mission to Phobos, one of the moons of Mars, scheduled for launch in 2011 or early 2012.

This image was taken on 7 March 2010 with a resolution is 4.4m per pixel and the inset marks the proposed landing region and sites for Phobos-Grunt.

Launched on 2 June 2003, Mars Express was the first fully European mission to any planet. It is an exciting challenge for European technology and is playing a key role in an international exploration programme spanning two decades.
