The ducal palace of Senigallia is situated in Senigallia, in the province of Ancona.

Description and history

The ducal palace is located in front of the Roveresca fortress of Senigallia, in a large square. It was built in the middle of the XVI century, upon kind request of Guidobaldo II Della Rovere, according to a project of the architect Gerolamo Genga. Later expanded by Francesco Maria Della Rovere. The palace was used as a representative residence for the court and for its illustrious guest. It doesn’t have a yard while the throne room is embellished by a coffered ceiling attributed to the painter Taddeo Zuccari.
