LET'S GO SKIING!

Hi! Here you can find some information about the idea of going skiing in Val di Fassa on Monday.

Why?

• Because the winter season is officially opening this weekend!
• Because you can visit an incredibly wonderful area you would probably not visit otherwise

When?

I though Monday 7th of December, because there will not be lectures on Monday and on Tuesday either.

Where?

I would love to invite you to visit my valley, which is Val di Fassa. It is surely one of the most beautiful valleys of Trentino and of the entire Dolomites. The town where I would like to bring you is Canazei, pretty famous ski resort all over Europe.

How to get there?

To get there you basically need a car. It takes more or less 1.5/2 hours from Trento to Val di Fassa. You can see a map of the road clicking here.

There are buses of course, but the journey would take three hours and the times are really bad. Actually, to get there it could still be good (leaving trento at 0615 and getting there around 0900), but to come back there is no good connection in the evening.

Moreover, I think that carsharing is cheaper than going by bus in this case.

Cost

Skipass

The ski area is great and huge. The skipass will cost 30 EUR. It's worth the money, though. They are opening the season these days, so this price is a pre-season price and its the lowest, it will increase around Christmas. You might get some discount on that price with the Uni.Sport card.

Rent

If you need to rent the equipment I can have some discount up there near the lift and you can rent ski (boots, ski and poles) or snowboard (board and boots) for around 20 EUR (maybe little bit less ;-) ). Another option is to rent in Trento, but I do not know about the prices in the city. Take in consideration also the fact that you would have to carry around all the stuff in case you rent in the city!

Eating

I think everybody can bring some sandwich to eat at noon!

Program

Let's try to see how the day may look like:

• 07:00: Leaving from Trento
• 08:45: Arrival in Canazei, Parking, Renting equipment and buying skipass
• 09:00 - 16:00: Skiing the whole day!
• 16:00: Some good apres-ski atmosphere in a good pub (Apres Ski Paradis take a look at the photo/video gallery ;-))
• Later, at some random point: back to Trento!
