System to get images on articles by checking if Wikipedia and/or Wikidata have an image and providing lists of pages that can be improved. This system was created on the Dutch Wikipedia by Multichill and I have introduced it on the several other Wikipedias. On the Italian Wikipedia there already was a template for Wikidata functions and this was expanded to include images.

How you can help

• Go to Categoria:Sportivi con immagine assente ma presente su Wikidata and add images from en.wiki or Wikidata to the articles on Wikipedia.

The system will update itself once you have added an image to an article, though this might take halve a day.

Getting to Wikidata: You either use en.wikipedia or Wikidata as a source. To get to Wikidata, click on the text "Change links" on the bottom of the column on the left side of the page (languages). Scroll up to find an image suggestion.

Problems you can run into

After images have been added to all articles some articles will be left without images. This is due to some images on Wikidata not being usefull to Wikipedia, or because there is a second template on the page without an image, or because the images are on the page, but not in the template. About 15% of the pages in Categoria:Sportivi con immagine assente ma presente su Wikidata cannot be improved. This amount will increase as improved pages are taken off the list. Eventually all pages on the list cannot be improved. It will then only function as a way to monitor any changes.

How it works

This is done by Template:Controllo Wikidata, which when added to a template can see whether or not the pages that use that template have an image in the template. The pages are then put in a category to differentiate them. To add the template Wikidata image, add the following to a template and change the "Immagine" to the name that template uses for pictures and change the "Sportivi con immagine" to the name of the category you want the article suggestions in.
