Sintesi in italiano: Le discussioni del MCDC con la comunità sulla Carta del Movimento sono state finora costruttive e ben frequentate. Tuttavia, è possibile fornire un feedback fino al 18 dicembre. A tal fine è disponibile un sondaggio (anonimo). Naturalmente è anche possibile scrivere su Meta o via e-mail: movementcharter@wikimedia.org (volentieri anche in italiano).
- Update on the Movement Charter Community Consultation - still ongoing!

On November 20, the Movement Charter Drafting Committee (MCDC) began its first round of community consultations. Eight regional rounds of discussions were scheduled around the world, plus three introductory events in advance, with the final one (East and Southeast Asia) taking place this morning. More than 200 participants from the communities have provided rich feedback and plenty of material to further the work of the committee. In addition to these "official" events, numerous volunteers support their communities as Movement Charter Ambassadors and host roundtable discussions there as well with a yet unknown number of participants.
Three parts of the Movement Charter were discussed in draft form, namely Preamble, Values & Principles and Roles and Responsibilities. The working atmosphere in the consultations was distinctly constructive, which may be due to both the importance of the Movement Charter and all participants being open-minded.
Even if the conversations are over now - the consultation continues until December 18. The opportunity to share with the committee one's thoughts and opinions on the content of the drafts will continue until then, and as before, the committee asks all interested parties to participate.
Those who have an interest in decisions in the "Movement" being made differently than before are urged to take the moment. Because it is still true that this process can turn the whole movement upside down - but not without as many people as possible speaking up.
Last but not least: this round was only a first step. Probably in the second quarter of 2023 another round of consultation will take place, this will be about a concrete version of the section on Roles & Responsibilities as well as on the Global Council and on Decision-making processes in the Movement.
