modifica- Nella East Division nacquero i New Haven Nighthawks, nuova franchigia di New Haven, nel Connecticut.
- Il 19 gennaio 1973 i Cleveland Barons si trasferirono a Jacksonville, in Florida, diventando i Jacksonville Barons.
- I Tidewater Wings cambiarono il proprio nome in Virginia Wings.
