Secondo quanto riportato nella Guida insolita di Sicilia di Santi Correnti, Stefano IV o Stefano III, era siracusano di nascita. Qualcuno può confermare? --Codas 10:00, 29 nov 2006 (CET)Rispondi

The list of popes used in the 19th century to represent them in mosaics at Saint Paul outside the Walls in Rome considers that the the pontificate of Stefen II was, for 4 days, legit. The current list considers that this pope is not legit (it was not consecrated). Consequently, the old numbers of all the Stephen popes, from III to X, are moved back one row. Thus, it was Pope who succeeded the short-lived pontif, called Stefanus III at Saint Paul outside the Walls, who is now called Stephen II. It is therefore appropriate to take the imaginary portrait of Stefanus III to illustrate the current Pope Stephen II. And so on until Etienne IX (numbered X in the basilica). The proofs of all that is asserted here are to be sought in the images of Saint Paul's Basilica visible on the site https://www.vatican.va/various/basiliche/san_paolo/vr_tour/Media/VR/St_Paul_Nave/index.html --Sumenol (msg) 16:23, 3 dic 2022 (CET)Rispondi
