Ciao Alleborgo, Ho notato che hai messo un link dalla voce illuminazione al francese "éveil spirituel". Forse sarebbe meglio linkare éveil alla voce "bodhi", che significa risveglio tanto quanto éveil. Illuminazione, specie nel buddismo, non vuol dire nulla di sensato; se noti anche in Wikipedia francese la voce "illumination" nemmeno esiste. Grazie, è chiaro che in questa fase la cosa è successa da sé. Non sono un abitué e non so fare, ma penso sia strano che quella voce abbia un link con una voce francese che vuol dire una cosa diversa. Non è questione di competenze specifiche, basta un dizionario francese/italiano. Speriamo che qualcuno se ne occupi?
PS: nel blog hai omesso di dire, mi pare, che il canone è una tassa di possesso, ovvero la paghi se hai l'apparecchio TV. Secondo la tua logica, su cui penso valga la pena riflettere, dovrebbero pagarla tutti, ma allora dovrebbe essere proporzionale... O no?

Your bot was in mh:Majõl right after a move vandal. The vandalism has been reverted, but now most of the interwikis elsewhere are wrong, could you fix it? Bot en:User:AlleborgoBot suspended for breaking templates

Hello. Your bot on en:User:AlleborgoBot has two bugs and is breaking templates. I have asked the admins to use your bot's emergency "block me" button, as a stopgap measure until you can fix it. An admin has suspended your bot and has been kind enough to rollback the misplaced interwikis.

1) Emergency bug. Your bot added interwikis outside the <noinclude> zone, resulting in your Italian interwikis being inserted on all pages using the affected templates!

• Recent examples of the bug: [1] and [2]

2) Secondary bug. Even if your bot had inserted the iw in the <noinclude> zone, it would still have been an error on many of the affected templates: the English Wikipedia is switching templates to the "doc page pattern", that is moving all doc and categories and interwikis to a /doc subpage and replace them with a tranclusion (this also allow to protect the template page, and leave the doc editable). Thus, a bot should usually not add interwikis to the template's main page in those cases, but either detect the subpage and go there, or leave a message on the talk page (only once), or leave it to be done manually.

• Recent example: the bot added an Italian iw to en:Template:sc resulting in TWO "Italian" interwikis as you can see on the left-side column of this diff. This is because this template already had the interwiki at en:Template:sc/doc.

Thus, you need to detect and handle those cases, else we'll constantly have to revert or block your bot. Please be aware that detecting that a template has its interwikis stored on another page is a tricky business, code-wise:

• The template's page can transclude its doc-categories-interwikis subpage via a number of means, including:
  • {{Documentation}} or {{documentation}}
  • {{Template doc}} or {{template doc}}
  • {{/doc}} or {{TemplateNameHere/doc}}
  • {{{{FULLPAGENAME}}/doc}} or {{{{PAGENAME}}/doc}} or {{{{BASEPAGENAME}}/doc}}
  • Some templates have had non-standard subpage names such as /documentation or /examples, that apply to the above examples
  • {{Template doc|actual name of doc subpage}} or {{Template doc|1=name of doc subpage}}
  • {{Documentation|anyspace:anypage/anysubpage}} or {{Documentation|1=anyspace:anypage/anysubpage}}
• Last but not least, in some cases, a doc page is written to describe a group of templates and is trancluded on all those templates; in those special cases, the interwikis can't be added to the common documentation subpage and have to be inserted on the template itself (despite the presence of a doc-page call on it). For a bot, detecting that it has found such as special case is tricky too. Ideas:
  • As a rule of thumb, if the calling template uses a parameter (instead of the default), it's very possibly a common page that shouldn't receive interwikis.
  • And if the calling template uses a parameter with a page that's not a subpage of itself, thus not an alternative name to the standard /doc, it's even more probably a shared page that shouldn't receive interwikis.

My last suggestion: code your bot so as it'll insert an interwikis only in the most easy template cases that you can be sure of, else fallback on making the bot automatically add a notice on the template's talk page informing of the existence of an interwiki (but then, you'll need to leave a tag on the talk page, and parse it so as to check that you didn't already left a notice there ;-)

Please see also: en:WP:DOC for the guidelines on the /doc system (it only documents the most recent system, that will hopefully eventually replace all others -- but until then, plenty of alternative syntax will exist on many unupdated templates and will have to be handled by bots).

Bot making bad edits

The English Un gars, une fille article has been edited by this bot, changing the French link from its disambig page to the article exclusively about the French version of the show. I had to revert such a change now twice. This is a case of multiple articles in one language versus only one in English. As the English article covers the original Quebec version of the show extensively, and all other international versions, the bot should not change the link to the disambig page, at least not to an article about a derivative version of the series.--99.236.179.27 02:22, 13 ott 2007 (CEST)

Anzitutto buona domenica. Scusami, non riesco a capire perché i collegamenti esterni di Elio Marcuzzo, pur non esistendo ancora nelle altre lingue, debbano venire soppressi (mi riferisco naturalmente al tuo bot). Ti dico questo per le seguenti ragioni:

1) se per ipotesi si dovesse creare una voce nella wikipedia francese, o portoghese senza che venga instaurato un collegamento con noi (ma solamente, ad es. con le wikipedie in inglese, tedesco o spagnolo, è già successo e succederà ancora), noi lo abbiamo già. Del resto una voce su Elio Marcuzzo, a differenza di altre (storia, filosofia, ecc.), non potrà che intitolarsi "Elio Marcuzzo" sia in italiano che in francese, inglese ecc;

2) a me potrebbe anche sfuggire l'esistenza di una voce su Elio Marcuzzo in altre Wikipedie.

Insomma, a meno che non esistano problemi per il sistema (questo francamente non lo so), perché cancellare dei collegamenti che non sono neppure visibili per il lettore, e che potrebbero risultare utili, o, nella peggiore delle ipotesi, superflui?

Ciao, ho notato che alla voce Mariano I de Lacon-Zori ed in altre della stessa categoria hai aggiunto che deve essere unificata col template:Bio. Il template che ho utilizzato nelle in queste voci è il template:BiografiaSovrano. Perché non va bene? Non è un template specifico per i sovrani? Purtroppo il template:Bio non va bene perché da problemi con la nazionalità, all'epoca non poteva esserci certo sovrani italiani, nemmeno sardi. In quegli anni potevano essere arborensi, ma anche se mi accettasse la nazionalità arborense non mi accetterebbe l'attività di giudice che all'epoca non corrispondeva all'attività come intesa oggi ma come monarca. Ho notato però che anche il template:BiografiaSovrano seppur adatto al tipo di voce non è corretto. Infatti popola le voci degli anni ad es. 1122 con la nascita o la morte del personaggio descritto nella voce.
