Hello Therud, According to my sources ("I Treni" italian magazine, various numbers) the first unit (ATR 220 026) arrived in Ferrara Depot June 13, 2009. I don't know in which date the contract was signed among FER, Railconsult, the italian consulting firm that provided these vehicles, and Pesa. Actually, April 20th some running test were made on FER tracks with an FSE ATR 220. Regrettably, in Italy some railway undertakers use (or have used) the same classification numbers for some vehicles; this fact occurs only for vehicles not authorized for operation on metals owned by national infrastructure manager RFI but only on regional lines.
