Jerrold Northrop Moore
Jerrold Northrop Moore (Paterson, 1934) è un musicologo britannico, di origine americana, noto soprattutto per una biografia e altri scritti sulla vita e la musica di Sir Edward Elgar. È anche un'autorità nella storia del grammofono[1].
Biografia modifica
Moore è nato a Paterson, nel New Jersey, ed è cresciuto negli Stati Uniti.[2] Ha studiato alla Yale University, ha insegnato all'Università di Rochester dal 1958 al 1961 ed è stato curatore di registrazioni sonore storiche a Yale dal 1961 al 1970. Vive in Inghilterra dal 1970.[1][3]

Il libro di Jerrold Northrop Moore Edward Elgar: A Creative Life fu pubblicato nel 1984, da allora è stato continuamente stampato e insieme a quello di Michael Kennedy è considerato una delle due biografie definitive di Elgar.[2]
