Ubuntu Budgie è una derivata ufficiale di Ubuntu basata su Budgie, un ambiente grafico leggero e veloce che si adatta sia a computer datati che alle più potenti workstation.
Storia
modificaUbuntu Budgie nasce come versione comunitaria non ufficiale basata su Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, denominata "budgie-remix".[1] Budgie-remix 16.10 è stata successivamente rilasciata seguendo rigorosamente il rilascio della versione 16.10 di Ubuntu.[2]
Con le versioni successive è stata riconosciuta della comunità di Ubuntu come flavor ufficiale e rinominata Ubuntu Budgie.[3]
Nel novembre 2017 Vincenzo Bovino è stato assunto come nuovo brand e PR Manager.[4]
Ubuntu Budgie 17.04 è stata rilasciata nell'aprile 2017,[5] e successivamente aggiornata alla versione 17.10 nell'ottobre dello stesso anno.[6]
Il supporto 32 bit è stato deprecato da Ubuntu Budgie, così come da Ubuntu MATE, a partire dalla versione 18.10.[7]
