Torneo di Ostenda 1907

Il Torneo di Ostenda 1907 è stato un torneo di scacchi che si è svolto a Ostenda in Belgio dal 16 maggio al 14 giugno 1907. Il direttore di gara era Leopold Hoffer.

Venne organizzato dal circolo di scacchi di Bruxelles e finanziato in gran parte dall'imprenditore e mecenate Georges Marquet. Era suddiviso in due sezioni: Principale e Masters.

Al torneo principale, a quadruplo girone, parteciparono sei maestri: Siegbert Tarrasch, Carl Schlechter, David Janowski, Frank James Marshall, Amos Burn e Mikhail Chigorin. Il montepremi era di 10.000 franchi, più 1200 franchi a ciascun giocatore come rimborso spese^[1]. Il torneo fu vinto da Tarrasch, che l'anno successivo giocherà un match per il titolo mondiale con il detentore Emanuel Lasker.

Il torneo Masters, a cui parteciparono 29 giocatori, fu vinto alla pari da Ossip Bernstein e Akiba Rubinstein.

Ci fu anche un torneo femminile, che venne vinto alla pari dalle inglesi Kate Belinda Finn e Grace Curling.
