Templates and Wikidata

Hi Edoderoo, the Italian Wikipedia community has decided that Wikidata should be used only as a fallback. But my bot will start migrating those template fields in few days (example). --Ricordisamoa 16:33, 23 giu 2013 (CEST)

That's fine. I just wanted to make clear what are the consequences of any decision made. I would not favour a general wikidata preference on all articles. On some areas it's not clear where WikiData got their data from. For a tennis player, however, the source is anyways the ATP/WTA website. Maybe the Italian tennis-community should do some advertising on WikiData on tennis bio's only. Edoderoo (msg) 16:45, 23 giu 2013 (CEST)

As Ricordisamoa said, we prefer not to give priority to wikidata (discussion is here); a bot can remove the local values when we are sure wikidata is better. The tennis infobox shows many informations taken in a certain date, including the date itself. Showing a win/lose ratio from a different and unknown date, even if more recent, may not be a great idea --Bultro (m) 22:31, 23 giu 2013 (CEST)
