La Wikimedia Foundation sta pianificando una consultazione globale riguardo i modi in cui comunichiamo, con l'obiettivo di coinvolgere Wikimediani e persone simili a noi e migliorare i nostri attuali metodi di comunicazione.
Vogliamo che tutti gli utenti siano in grado di parlarsi sulla wiki, a prescindere dalla loro esperienza, dalle loro capacità e dai loro dispositivi.
Stiamo cercando input da quanti più membri possibili della comunità wikimediana, perché la consultazione riguarda tutti i progetti, in tutte le lingue, con le loro differenti prospettive.
Siamo ancora in fase di pianificazione e abbiamo bisogno del tuo aiuto.
Abbiamo bisogno di volontari che si mettano in contatto con le loro comunità o gruppi di utenti.
Puoi aiutare a creare o gestire una discussione sulla tua wiki, con questi semplici passi:
- Prima di tutto, segnati fra i partecipanti (e indica la tua comunità o gruppo di utenti di provenienza).
- Poi crea una pagina (oppure una discussione al Bar, un thread di mail o qualsiasi altro metodo che ritieni utile) per raccogliere opinioni e dati da altre persone della tua comunità o gruppo di utenti. Questa non è una discussione volta a prendere una decisione, stiamo soltanto raccogliendo feedback e opinioni.
- Chiedi alle persone cosa pensano degli attuali processi di comunicazione. Vogliamo sapere dagli utenti come fanno a comunicare fra loro su Wikipedia e al di fuori di Wikipedia. Inoltre, prendi in considerazione queste cinque domande:
- Quando vuoi discutere di qualcosa con la tua comunità, quali sono i mezzi che funzionano e quali sono i problemi che incontri?
- Quando parli con dei nuovi utenti, cosa funziona nelle attuali pagine di discussione e cosa invece crea loro problemi?
- Quali sono i problemi che gli altri utenti della tua comunità incontrano quando usano le pagine di discussione?
- Quali sono le funzioni che vorreste avere in una pagina di discussione e che non puoi avere per via degli attuali limiti tecnici?
- Quali sono gli aspetti più importanti di una "discussione wiki"?
- Infine, per favore andate nelle pagine di discussione della consultazione 2019 su Mediawiki.org e trascrivete ciò che avete imparato dal vostro gruppo. Se possibile, includete anche i link alle discussioni (se pubbliche).
Puoi anche aiutare a costruire la lista dei tanti differenti modi in cui gli utenti parlano fra loro.
Non tutti i gruppi attivi su una wiki o un gruppo di wiki utilizzano lo stesso modo per discutere: possono usare la wiki, ma anche i social network o tool esterni. Raccontaci come comunica il tuo gruppo.

Asking for Help – blackout to protest the EU Copyright Directive modifica
Salve! On German, Czech and Slovak Wikipedia there is the blackout planned on 21st of March 2019 because of the EU Copyright Directive. The thing is that we prepared our own page on Slovak Wikipedia which we thought would be displayed during the blackout as the only page (similarly to your page in July 2018). But then users from Czech Wikipedia told us that we can only do the translation of template on Meta that is going to be shown on the day of the blackout. My question is how did you do the blackout on Italian Wikipedia in July 2018 from the technical side? Did you create your own page? Thanks for all the answers, --Lišiak (msg) 22:19, 19 mar 2019 (CET)
Poca trasparenza in Wikipedia Italia modifica
Buongiorno vi scrivo perchè vi sono dei seri problemi sulla libertà di informazione e sulla trasparenza in Wikipedia Italia. Avevo contattato lo user Dave Worm chiedendo per un aiuto a denunciare tale situazione e mi ha invitato a rivolgervi prima a voi.
Da un po' di tempo ho incominciato a fare dei contributi su varie pagine di storia e di economia (di cui sono un professionista del settore) e mi sono dovuto scontrare con un gruppo di persone che si spalleggiano l'uno con l'altro per cancellare molto spesso senza ragione i contributi dei vari utenti (non solo i miei) nonostante vi siano le fonti ed abbiano contenuti enciclopedici o ufficiali.
In seguito al mio iniziale stupore ho incominciato a chiedere dei chiarimenti e mi sono arrivati apprezzamenti poco gentili del tipo "Hai manie di grandezza" oppure cosa aspetti a lasciare wikipedia italia sei ancora qua?
Ho inoltre rilevato che questo gruppo di persone vengono all'attacco uno dopo l'altro per dare la parvenza che essi rappresentino tutta la community. Vi inviterei,per chiarezza e trasparenza a leggere le pagine di discussione sui miei profili e sui miei vari contributi. I nomi di questi personaggi che a mio avviso stanno danneggiando gravemente la libertà di wikipedia italia con metodi agressivi molto vicini al bullismo sono: Gac (penso sia il capo), L736, Bramfab, Franz Van Lanzee e Boss.mattia.
Spero che questa email trovi un seguito. Potete fare qualcosa?

- The only part of the message from the bot that I understood was "Hello and welcome to the Italian Wikipedia! We appreciate your contributions. - What I don't get though is why I got a message from the bot in the first place... As I've never done anything on the Italian Wiki to my knowlege...
- The closest thing I can think of to a reason for the bot to even care about me is that I visited a Italian wiki page about a political party a while ago... - Yes Luredreier, that's the reason: as explained here, reading an article on a wiki you've never visited before is enough to automatically create your local account on that wiki, and that's why you received the welcome message. Community conversations are an integral part of movement strategy “Wikimedia 2030”. They have been ongoing in multiple formats and in numerous languages over the last 2.5 years. Now it is possible to also contribute to the development of recommendations on structural change via an online survey. We are keeping the survey open for additional 2 weeks and post it to wikis to provide wider opportunities to participate for people interested in it.
The survey is available in 8 languages: Arabic, English, French, German, Hindi, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish. They contain designated questions about each of the nine thematic areas that the working groups are analyzing and drafting recommendations for. You can freely choose the thematic areas you want to contribute and respond to. The survey questions have been created and designed by the members of the working groups.

Generalmente qui vengono coloro che non parlano l'italiano o sono di wiki straniere! Comunque, ti direi che il luogo giusto per cominciare è Wikipedia in Spagnolo. Se conosci lo Spagnolo (abbastanza da fare una traduzione) sono sicuro che riuscirai ad orientarti bene ed a leggere prima di tutto quali sono i loro criteri di enciclopedicità e poi a creare la voce, esattamente come si crea una nuova voce su questa edizione di Wikipedia. In alternativa, se non vuoi copiare il testo e lavorarci su, puoi provare ad usare anche una cosa come la funzionalità Content Translation. The consultation on partial and temporary Foundation bans just started modifica

In a recent statement, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees requested that staff hold a consultation to "re-evaluat[e] or add community input to the two new office action policy tools (temporary and partial Foundation bans)".
Accordingly, the Foundation's Trust & Safety team invites all Wikimedians to join this consultation and give their feedback from 30 September to 30 October.
How can you help?
- Suggest how partial and temporary Foundation bans should be used, if they should (eg: On all projects, or only on a subset);
- Give ideas about how partial and temporary Foundation bans should ideally implemented, if they should be; and/or
- Propose changes to the existing Office Actions policy on partial and temporary bans.
We offer our thanks in advance for your contributions, and we hope to get as much input as possible from community members during this consultation!

Feedback wanted on Desktop Improvements project modifica

Ciao. The Readers Web team at the WMF will work on some improvements to the desktop interface over the next couple of years. The goal is to increase usability without removing any functionality. We have been inspired by changes made by volunteers, but that currently only exist as local gadgets and user scripts, prototypes, and volunteer-led skins. We would like to begin the process of bringing some of these changes into the default experience on all Wikimedia projects.
We are currently in the research stage of this project and are looking for ideas for improvements, as well as feedback on our current ideas and mockups. So far, we have performed interviews with community members at Wikimania. We have gathered lists of previous volunteer and WMF work in this area. We are examining possible technical approaches for such changes.
We would like individual feedback on the following:
- Identifying focus areas for the project we have not yet discovered
- Expanding the list of existing gadgets and user scripts that are related to providing a better desktop experience. If you can think of some of these from your wiki, please let us know
- Feedback on the ideas and mockups we have collected so far
We would also like to gather a list of wikis that would be interested in being test wikis for this project - these wikis would be the first to receive the updates once we’re ready to start building.
When giving feedback, please consider the following goals of the project:
- Make it easier for readers to focus on the content
- Provide easier access to everyday actions (e.g. search, language switching, editing)
- Put things in logical and useful places
- Increase consistency in the interface with other platforms - mobile web and the apps
- Eliminate clutter
- Plan for future growth
As well as the following constraints:
- Not touching the content - no work will be done in terms of styling templates or to the structure of page contents themselves
- Not removing any functionality - things might move around, but all navigational items and other functionality currently available by default will remain
- No drastic changes to the layout - we're taking an evolutionary approach to the changes and want the site to continue feeling familiar to readers and editors

Beta feature "Reference Previews" modifica
A new beta feature will soon be deployed to your wiki: Reference Previews. As you might guess from the name, this feature gives you a preview of references in the article text. That means, you can look up a reference without jumping down to the bottom of the page.
Reference Previews have already been a beta feature on German and Arabic Wikipedia since April. Now they will become available on more wikis. Deployment is planned for October 24. More information can be found on the project page.

Invitation to participate in the upcoming WPWP Campaign modifica

This is to invite you to join the WPWP Campaign to help improve Wikipedia articles with photos and win prizes. The campaign will run from 1st July 2020 to 31st August 2020.
The campaign primarily aims at using images from Wikimedia Commons on Wikipedia articles that are lacking images. Participants will choose among Wikipedia pages without photo images, then add a suitable file from among the many thousands of photos in the Wikimedia Commons, especially those uploaded from thematic contests (Wiki Loves Africa, Wiki Loves Earth, Wiki Loves Folklore, etc.) over the years.

Annual contest Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos modifica
This is to invite you to join the Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos (WPWP) campaign to help improve Wikipedia articles with photos and win prizes. The campaign starts today 1st July 2020 and closes 31st August 2020.
The campaign primarily aims at using images from Wikimedia Commons on Wikipedia articles that are lacking images. Participants will choose among Wikipedia pages without photo images, then add a suitable file from among the many thousands of photos in the Wikimedia Commons, especially those uploaded from thematic contests (Wiki Loves Africa, Wiki Loves Earth, Wiki Loves Folklore, etc.) over the years.

Since 16 June, the Foundation Brand Team has been running a survey in 7 languages about 3 naming options. There are also community members sharing concerns about renaming in a Community Open Letter.
Our goal in this call for feedback is to hear from across the community, so we encourage you to participate in the survey, the open letter, or both. The survey will go through 7 July in all timezones. Input from the survey and discussions will be analyzed and published on Meta-Wiki.

Ho l'onore di presentare Abstract Wikipedia, un nuovo progetto che è stato approvato in unanimità dal Consiglio di Amministrazione di Wikimedia Foundation. Abstract Wikipedia propone una base di conoscenza enciclopedica libera e multilingue, permettendo a più contributori e più lettori di condividere più conoscenza in più lingue. Technical Wishes: FileExporter and FileImporter become default features on all Wikis modifica
The FileExporter and FileImporter will become a default features on all wikis until August 7, 2020. They are planned to help you to move files from your local wiki to Wikimedia Commons easier while keeping all original file information (Description, Source, Date, Author, View History) intact. Additionally, the move is documented in the files view history. How does it work?

As you may know, you can include changes coming from Wikidata in your Watchlist and Recent Changes (in your preferences). Until now, this feature didn’t always include changes made on Wikidata descriptions due to the way Wikidata tracks the data used in a given article.
Starting on December 3rd, the Watchlist and Recent Changes will include changes on the descriptions of Wikidata Items that are used in the pages that you watch. This will only include descriptions in the language of your wiki to make sure that you’re only seeing changes that are relevant to your wiki.
This improvement was requested by many users from different projects. We hope that it can help you monitor the changes on Wikidata descriptions that affect your wiki and participate in the effort of improving the data quality on Wikidata for all Wikimedia wikis and beyond.
Note: if you didn’t use the Wikidata watchlist integration feature for a long time, feel free to give it another chance! The feature has been improved since the beginning and the content it displays is more precise and useful than at the beginning of the feature in 2015.

Help with the deletion of a promotional article modifica
Hi! I would like help with the deletion of a promotional article with no enciclopedic relevance (Rafael Núñez (hacker)). The article has been deleted in the Spanish Wikipeda several times, as well as in the English (first and second deletion nominations) and Portuguese Wikipedias. Since then, in some instances it has been restored or expanded by a now globally blocked account and its sockpuppets (Utente:Mariangela Ramirez). The current version in the Italian Wikipedia is only a translation of said content Rafael Núñez (hacker).

Ich versuchte gerade einen ersten Text meiner Seite "Salsa di mais" einzustellen, wurde sie auch geloescht, nur weil in der Draft version einige italienische Fehler im Text waren... - Hallo, der Text muss eine nicht ausgezeichnete italienische Grammatik enthalten, aber für die Muttersprache immer noch verständlich sein. Ihr Text war voller Sätze und Wörter, die es in Italien nicht gibt. (sogar) auf Chinesisch. Dann Formel gut oder die Seite wird immer gelöscht. - Hi Kelthown, when a rename is made, a log is also created and it will always remain public (see on Meta-Wiki). Why would you want another user's rename log removed? [@ Davide Ceriani] should be making the request and, if there aren't serious or privacy reasons, I don't think it will be accepted. Hello, I am organizing the english portion of this Wiki Edit-a-thon available here: en:Wikipedia:WikiProject Organized Labour/Online edit-a-thon Tech February 2021 and it's linked to an Italian event which I created Utente:Shushugah/Labour-Edit-a-thon and I am wondering if there are any missing event categories, or Italian wikiprojects on labor/technology I can link to. In general, it seems Interwiki edit-a-thons are not common from a technical point of view. Dear Wikipedians,
My native language is Spanish, and obviously my Italian is a lot worse than I thought.
I feel totally useless to do acceptable translations in Italian, I am very sorry.
Please, if any Wikipedian thinks that the mistranslated articles in my sandbox could be useful, all three need a lot of correction that I am unable to do correctly.
I also humbly accept if you think it is better to send them all away.
The three articles are here: 1) You Can't Get What You Want (Till You Know What You Want), 2) News Media Association and 3) Dan Forrest.
I do not want to waste anyone's time, or uselessly occupy valuable space that should be occupied by well-translated articles.

Drafting Committee: Call for applications modifica
The Wikimedia Foundation is recruiting volunteers to join a committee to draft how to make the code enforceable. Volunteers on the committee will commit between 2 and 6 hours per week from late April through July and again in October and November. It is important that the committee be diverse and inclusive, and have a range of experiences, including both experienced users and newcomers, and those who have received or responded to, as well as those who have been falsely accused of harassment.

Il suggerimento di determinati valori riduce la possibilità di errori e agevola la compilazione dei template. Resterà comunque possibile compilare i parametri con valori diversi da quelli suggeriti.

I seem to have been contacted by Italian Wiki and have zero idea why, I don't speak Italian, I don't know what's happening. I don't recall intentionally having anything to do with Italian Wiki, and if I did, I can't navigate my way to find out what that might have been, since I don't speak Italian. If I ever did make any edit here, can you show me in a way I will understand in English? Otherwise I will assume it's something to do with falling asleep on a keyboard, or my elbow slipping by accident, or something. RorschachUK (msg)

New Wikipedia Library collections and design update (August 2021) modifica
Hello Wikimedians!
The Wikipedia Library is pleased to announce the addition of new collections, alongside a new interface design. New collections include:
- Cabells – Scholarly and predatory journal database
- Taaghche - Persian language e-books
- Merkur, Musik & Ästhetik, and Psychologie, Psychotherapie, Psychoanalyse - German language magazines and journals published by Klett-Cotta
- Art Archiv, Capital, Geo, Geo Epoche, and Stern - German language newspapers and magazines published by Gruner + Jahr
Additionally, De Gruyter and Nomos have been centralised from their previous on-wiki signup location on the German Wikipedia. Many other collections are freely available by simply logging in to The Wikipedia Library with your Wikimedia login!
We are also excited to announce that the first version of a new design for My Library was deployed this week. We will be iterating on this design with more features over the coming weeks. Read more on the project page on Meta.
Lastly, an Echo notification will begin rolling out soon to notify eligible editors about the library (T132084). If you can translate the notification please do so at TranslateWiki!

need help with edit warring hostile user of your wiki modifica
I need help to report the user AndreaRocky for his edit warring here: https://it.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Amusement_Park&action=history He already reached 4th revert in hours and broke the 3 revert rule now. I made the edits with explanations and I explained it to the user on talk page as well, the user is very hostile and breaking many wikipedia policies like owning an article, edit warring, disruptive editing, not assuming good faith, calling someone who tries to fix something in good faith as vandal, and more. He is very disruptive and acts stubborn for no reason other than trying to "own" the article and attacks me by making it a matter of pride. - I did not start an edit war, I just made some adjustments according to the new info and he started it and acted and acting very rude and hostile. I stopped at 3rd revert to not break the rule but he continued without any care and broke the rule with the 4th revert. He's very very hostile and unfriendly for no reason. There is a university research here that justifies my edits. There are more as well but even this should be enough. These inaccuracies were already fixed in en wiki and I'm telling him that, he's saying "we don't care". - I did not start an edit war, I just made some adjustments according to the new info and he started it and acted and acting very rude and hostile. I stopped at 3rd revert to not break the rule but he continued without any care and broke the rule with the 4th revert. He's very very hostile and unfriendly for no reason. There is a university research here that justifies my edits. There are more as well but even this should be enough. These inaccuracies were already fixed in en wiki and I'm telling him that, he's saying "we don't care". - I was referring "reverts in 24 hours", my reverts in last 24 hours 3, his reverts in last 24 hours is 4. I think 3-revert rule is about making more than 3 reverts in 24 hours unless this wiki has a slightly different rule. That's why I said I didn't break the rule but he did. - @Tehonk on the Italian Wikipedia, the 3R rule is not an actual rule but just a suggestion. See Wikipedia:Regola dei tre ripristini di pagina.

The 2022 Community Wishlist Survey will happen in January modifica

We hope all of you are as well and safe as possible during these trying times! We wanted to share some news about a change to the Community Wishlist Survey 2022. We would like to hear your opinions as well.
Summary:
We will be running the Community Wishlist Survey 2022 in January 2022. We need more time to work on the 2021 wishes. We also need time to prepare some changes to the Wishlist 2022. In the meantime, you can use a dedicated sandbox to leave early ideas for the 2022 wishes.
Proposing and wish-fulfillment will happen during the same year modifica
In the past, the Community Tech team has run the Community Wishlist Survey for the following year in November of the prior year. For example, we ran the Wishlist for 2021 in November 2020. That worked well a few years ago. At that time, we used to start working on the Wishlist soon after the results of the voting were published.
However, in 2021, there was a delay between the voting and the time when we could start working on the new wishes. Until July 2021, we were working on wishes from the Wishlist for 2020.
We hope having the Wishlist 2022 in January 2022 will be more intuitive. This will also give us time to fulfill more wishes from the 2021 Wishlist.
Encouraging wider participation from historically excluded communities modifica
We are thinking how to make the Wishlist easier to participate in. We want to support more translations, and encourage under-resourced communities to be more active. We would like to have some time to make these changes.
A new space to talk to us about priorities and wishes not granted yet modifica
We will have gone 365 days without a Wishlist. We encourage you to approach us. We hope to hear from you in the talk page, but we also hope to see you at our bi-monthly Talk to Us meetings! These will be hosted at two different times friendly to time zones around the globe.
We will begin our first meeting September 15th at 23:00 UTC. More details about the agenda and format coming soon!
Brainstorm and draft proposals before the proposal phase modifica
If you have early ideas for wishes, you can use the new Community Wishlist Survey sandbox. This way, you will not forget about these before January 2022. You will be able to come back and refine your ideas. Remember, edits in the sandbox don't count as wishes!

Se crei una voce per cui esiste già un link entrante a partire da un'altra voce, il collegamento rimarrà rosso più a lungo del solito. Alcuni script in esecuzione da molto tempo dovranno essere fermati.
- La distribuzione del codice dovrebbe avvenire normalmente come le altre settimane. However, some case-by-case code freezes could punctually happen if the operation require them afterwards.

incomprehensible messages coming to my talk page for no apparent reason modifica
Apologies, but my Italian, beyond the ability to order food, is almost non-existent. For some reason my talk page here suddenly activated despite never having been active or made any contributions.
I attempted to deactivate it by deleting the content but for some reason it seems there is an objection to this.
could you please
a) put a message on my talk page asking people not to contact me here since I will not be able to understand their comments b) please archive the current content from my talk page since it's no use to me and make it clear that the talk page is not a useful way to contact me c) ask them to contact me in English on my .en user page if the wish to discuss d) if they are unable to speak English, would you please be willing to translate for them and pass on the message.
maybe in future I'll be able to handle Italian Wikipedia, however not now.
