WTCC 2013

La stagione 2013 del Campionato mondiale Turismo (World Touring Car Championship) è stata la decima edizione del campionato gestito dalla Federazione Internazionale dell'Automobile (FIA), la nona dal suo ritorno nel 2005. Essa è iniziata il 24 marzo a Monza, Italia ed è terminata il 17 novembre a Macao dopo 24 gare. Il campionato, riservato a vetture con motore 1600 cm³ turbo comprende due titoli, uno per i piloti e uno per i costruttori.

Il francese Yvan Muller, alla guida di una Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T del team RML, è risultato vincitore del titolo piloti per la quarta volta in carriera,[1] mentre la Honda è campione tra i costruttori.[2] Il Trofeo Yokohama per indipendenti è stato invece vinto dal britannico James Nash per quanto concerne i piloti e da RML per quanto riguarda le scuderie.[3]

Calendario modifica

La stagione 2013 conta 24 gare che si tengono in 12 circuiti. Il calendario finale della stagione fu realizzato nel dicembre 2012, con alcune modifiche risalenti al giugno 2013.[49]

Cambiamenti nel calendario modifica

  • La Gara del Marocco non era inclusa nel calendario provvisorio del 2013, sebbene quest'ultimo presentasse una data vacante per una gara.[50]
  • La Gara del Portogallo ritorna al Circuito da Boavista a Porto dopo essere stata tenuta a Portimão nel 2012.
  • La Gara di Spagna era originariamente inclusa nel calendario provvisorio ad una pista da definire.[50] Comunque, la gara è stata rimossa dal calendario finale realizzato a dicembre 2012.[50]
  • La Gara di Russia fa il suo debutto in campionato al Moscow Raceway.[50]
  • La Gara del Brasile era stata rimossa dal calendario prima dell'inizio della stagione,[51] ma è stata poi reinserita[52] e, successivamente, definitivamente cancellata[53].
  • Un ulteriore tredicesimo round del campionato è stato aggiunto prima dell'inizio della stagione, round da correre in un circuito da decidere.[51] Nel maggio 2013, è stato confermato il debutto della Gara d'Argentina, da svolgersi all'autodromo Autodromo di Termas de Río Hondo.[54] La gara in Argentina è stata confermata in giugno, ma anziché essere un round aggiuntivo è andato a rimpiazzare il weekend brasiliano.[53]
